What Type of Filler is Right For You?

Whether you are looking to add a little more volume to your lips, smooth out fine lines, or add more volume to your face, dermal fillers may be an option for you. There are many different types of injectable dermal fillers depending on what your end-goals are. The word ‘dermal fillers’ is a blanket term used to describe gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, or enhance facial contours. Guerra Plastic Surgery Center in Scottsdale, Arizona offers injectables for lips, cheeks, facial volume, and more. With the help of Trish Hultgren, MSN, she will customize a treatment plan specific to your goals!

Types of Fillers

Guerra Plastic Surgery Center offers dermal fillers from Restylane and Juvederm at the Scottsdale office. As for Restylane fillers, we offer Restylane-L, Lyft, Silk, Refyne, Defyne, and their newest filler, Kysse! Trish is also trained in perfectly placing Sculptra to enhance your features. The Juvederm family consists of Juvederm Ultra XC, Ultra Plus, Volbella, and Voluma. The biggest difference between Juvederm and Restylane families is the outcome you are looking to achieve.

Where Filler Can Be Placed

Fillers can be placed in various locations on a patient’s body including the face and hands. Both Restylane and Juvederm dermal fillers are FDA-approved and completely safe to use to add volume to the different areas of the face – without surgery and minimal downtime. Dermal fillers are great for smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth in order smooth out the appearance of your skin. Fillers are a great way to contour the cheek area and enhance your jawline without going under the knife! The most popular injection site for dermal fillers is the lip and the area around them. Fillers can help smooth out fine lines on your lips resulting in a smoother and plumper surface.

Have chronic dry or chapped lips? Our dermal fillers are all hyaluronic acid-based, which is a substance that your body naturally produces to lock in moisture. No matter what your end goals are, Trish Hultgren will be sure to go over all the different options to achieve your desired look using dermal fillers!

Our Tips before Your First Appointment

As always, we recommend that you meet with our certified cosmetic nurse injector to come up with a customized treatment plan and go over your medical history. Once you have done so, here are some tips to know before your dermal filler appointment.

Make sure you are hydrated and eat a good meal before your appointment. This will not only help your filler adhere to the area, but it will also make sure that you do not get lightheaded during treatment. To prevent bruising, start taking Arnica tablets a few days before your injection, and also apply Arnica Gel to the area afterward. These steps aren’t required, but they will help cut down on bruising significantly. Avoid taking any blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, and Aleve.
